The First 3 Words

Assalamualaikum & hallo everyone!

I took this from tumblr

Our psychological state allows us to see only what we want/need/feel to see at a particular time. What are the first 3 words that you see?

My first try:

  • Love -- Do I need to explain this? Lols! But seriously, I wish there's more love than hatred in this world. Reading/watching news on chaos happening all around the world makes me sick :(
  • Health -- Being thin while maintaining a good health is my gusto. I'm currently 43 kg & I didn't realize how thin I am until this evening. Been skipping a lot of meals lately. Appetite, where art thou?
  • Freedom -- In what I've been wanted to be/do. Thinking of furthering my studies in archaeology or history. If only I've enough guts to make it true

**Update

My second try after 10 hourse from the first try (sebab tak puas hati dengan yang above. Lols!)

  • Money -- Yes
  • Happiness -- In any way, as much as possible
  • Health

Happy Ending

The book I'm currently reading; Daughter of Persia

I used to be one of the girls who would stay up till 2 to 3 a.m just to finish reading a book & later go to bed with a satisfied mind & smiling face. The fascinating journey to the the very last page of the book had always been exciting, provided that you found a perfect book that could immerse you in its story, no matter how thick the book is

Being an optimist person I am, my selection of books has always been the type of '... and they live happily ever after. The end." Don't you just love happy ending stories? :)

But it seems like the privilege of reading a book for pleasure has no longer mine. I don't know how long I'll take to finish reading this book because honestly, if you ask me to choose between a book & my bed after work, the latter wins anytime. #dilemaseorangpekerjamakangaji #adakahsudahtua?

My work involves reading, analyzing & solving other people's civil matters. (I should really find a more glamorous description for my job, you know to make it sound less *yawns* boring. Ok, let's us call us lawyers 'a black & white penguin rescuer'). And reading their files is like reading storybooks. The only difference is that, they're real & my source of gaji comes from their problems

And here I am babbling about a happy ending when mine isn't even in sight yet. Sigh!

Hard

It's been such a tough week for me. A very tough one
I lost my appetite, 1 kg gone in 4 days. Coming to the office with a very tired face
I've been thinking a lot. My brain must be very weary

O well, I should have prepared for this earlier. Sigh!

Oh Allah, grant me patience. Guide me to the right path & never let me go astray ...

Never

Never overlook those tiny blessings from Allah to you
Never ignore anything that happened
As behind it lies thousand of blessings

Never walk in this life too fast
As you might miss those beautiful blessings around you

Never forget to be grateful
As you have no idea how many others out there wish for what you have

Never belittle tiny blessings
Cause behind it lies great mercy of Allah swt
Those tiny blessings that curve a smile to the heart most

Random Notes

My current desktop wallpaper at the office

Assalamualaikum & hallo! Some random notes because I love being random;

  • I wish I can be louder or more honest here, like I used to be. But the thought of being clueless on who reads my blog holds me from being that. How if anak makcik jiran sebelah reads mine? Or orang office atas? Or kawan kepada kawan who knows that one of my hobbies when I was small was main pondok-pondok with my cousins & I always acted as a mak yang bersifat diktator?
  • I wish I can just simply delete some of the bad things or memories from my mind. And wouldn't it be good if you can choose which stories that suit your liking & lepas tu baru register masuk dalam kepala?
  • I'm addicted to cleaning & rearranging. I even told the people at the office that I want to be a part time Radicare janitor at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II, K.Bharu. I heard the gaji boleh tahan. Setakat sapu-sapu & mop apalah sangat. Cleaning makes me happy! :D
  • I'm no longer a person who likes to talk on the phone, unless it's very important or urgent. Even the sound of ringing telephone at the office can annoy me. I remember when I was in secondary school, I was so addicted talking on the phone, phone bill pernah sampai RM400. Kehkehkeh! Deskmate dalam kelas je pun nak cakap for hours bagai. Like, hello! You two were staying at the hostel, satu kelas & meja sebelah-sebelah pulak tu. Wasn't it enough? Pfttt! But dulu keeping handphone at school & hostel was illegal. Masuk Form 5 baru pandai nak smuggle, tu pun near & during SPM. So, bila pulang bermalam once in a month, terus jakun kejap jumpa telefon
  • I'm currently addicted listening to Bagaikan Sakti by M.Nasir & Siti Nurhaliza. Nak nyanyi feeling-feeling tak ingat lirik, so I've been repeating "Cinta ini hakikatnyaaaaaa" a lot lately :P
  • Kelate cuti 3 days next week! Yayyyy! Sunday - cuti Deepavali yang di bring forward. Monday - cuti bola, Kelate vs Pahang. Tuesday - Maal Hijrah. I haven't had any plan yet but gatainyaaa rasa nak jalan-jalan habiskan duit or makan-makan!
  • Been cutting off a lot of nasi intakes lately. Nafsu gajah yang dulu pergi mana tak tahu
  • Looking forward to visiting my friend, Qatrin & others  at Penang next February. Oh Allah, please make this plan jadi. I'm so yearning for a weekend getaway & I haven't met them since our LL.B graduation in November last year. Rindu please semua oranggg!

Lelaki Kacak

Assalamualaikum & hallo! Happy rainy Sunday!

A friend shared this at the whassap group the other day;

Couldn't help but to share this around. Rajin benau orang yang buat research ni kan? Of course different people would react differently to this, including those people whose their profession mentioned on the top 2 in the list. Lols!

Well, if you ask me, I think it's the intelligence & charisma that make people look smart :)

Since I enrolled into UiTM Law School (which seems to be a gazillion years ago. I feel old! *cries*) & right until this moment; seeing, working with & being surrounded with men in black & white has become a norm. I remember when I was in the first year at the Law School, one of our lecturers once said, "Now je you all tengok the guys pakai selekeh & you all tak pandang. Wait until they dress in black & white"

We were still clueless at that time. I mean, there's nothing attractive about our guys in our class, coming to the class with casual collared shirt, jeans & bag (or just file, pencil case, some papers or lenggang-lenggang bawa pen je. Pfttt!) but true indeed, there's something attractive about men in black & white. Something that makes them look confident & like I said, smart & charismatic. Like Harvey Specter!

Sorry lah if bias sikit. Hehe!

As for me, I'm now at the stage where good look per se won't buy my attention. Tipula cakap masa muda remaja dulu tak pandang rupa, taste nak mata sepet ajeee & cool macam Duta Sheila on 7 je oiii. Lols! But been raised up in the family which appreciates education (and religion, I must add), the brain tops up the list. The smarter you're, the more comfortable I'm with you & of course, the more points you score. Hehe!

I don't mean to despise or look down on less educated guys. If any of you feel that way, I'm truly sorry. In my very humble opinion, look per se isn't enough nowadays but being witty is. But good look + wit = JACKPOT!

So, if anyone comes to me & say "Look! Handsome guy at 3 o'clock", he/she won't probably make my head turn but if he/she says "Wehhh, 3 o'clock weh! A ___________ *insert any cool job here*", that would probably make my head turns, or probably spins :P

Ahmad Umar Harith

Ahmad Umar Harith bin Muhamad Anuar

My nephew is 25 days old today. Alhamdulillah! From a not so tiny little baby of 3.43 kg, he's now growing up so fast, demanding milk like every hour & immediately after that, kena tukar nappy pulak. Fuh! Sistem penyahtinjaan awak sangat bagus, Umar!

I never had an experience with babies before, except with my anak sepupu, Nabil when he was 3 months old where I got a chance to baby sit him for 2 weeks when I was 18. So, having this helpless nephew living under one roof with us is totally an alien concept to me. Although I've always been the youngest one in the family, I really don't mind when everybody's attention has shifted to him. Mungkin Tommy la rasa very neglected lately. Lols! Pity that guy! Suddenly, Umar's become everybody's attention & all of us will just sit around him admiring him whilst he's sleeping. And when he makes an 'erkkk' sounds which is his secret code of saying "I want Mama's milk now! Nowww!", everybody knows that it means that his request must be fulfilled time tu juga! Gelabah habis semua orang. Lols!

But all in all, Umar's such a very easy baby & he likes to sleep a lot too. Ok, that one I know where he gets it from. Kehkeh! And he already can senyum-senyum :)

Umar with his Atok & Nenek (the BIL's parents)

Check out my biceps, yo!

May I confess something?

Until now, I haven't had the guts to hold Umar. The most I did was changing his socks T_T I know rightttt? I'm probably one of the most horrible aunties in the whole wide world! And every time my Sister changed his nappy & said "Bila Mama Sue nak tukar diaper Umar ni?", I would quickly run away & say bye. Because why? Seeing his angry bird makes me go blushing -.-'

This is the dilemma of being the youngest child for so longggg, having Abah as the only male in the house before the BIL joined us in 2008 & went to a girls' boarding school for 5 years. Pfttt!

So, sorry Umar! Mama Sue tunggu awak 1 month & a half at least then nanti Mama Sue play my role ok? But I love you very muchhhhh! You can't dispute that

Oh, I think I owe him one post about his recent majlis akikah

Hari Ini Hari Khamis

Assalamualaikum & hallo everyone! How are you today?

This post has been terperam in the inbox since 07/10. Since the internet at home had been away for holiday but eventually returned yesterday, I finally had the time to dig some old entries & plan to post them one by one. Gittewww mukadimah. Feeling super blogger sangat walhalnya blog warm warm nail -.-'

Before I went to the office yesterday, I stepped on the weighing scale & got myself surprised

44 kg! Oh wow!

But of course, that was the weight before I had my breakfast, lunch & dinner but still 44 freaking kg! WoohoO! When I started to diet & eat healthy a few months ago, I intentionally didn't want to put much pressure on myself. I just wanted to shed 3 kg & shut other people's mouth up (pardon moi for my language :P) of how physically I've changed. Suddenly everybody became concerned of my weight gain -.-'

I was born petite & the heaviest I had been was 44 kg. So, when I realized that I had been too far & my appetite had been out of control yakni 48 - 49 kg, of course I freaked out! I bid (temporary) goodbye to M&M, cookies & other junk food & restrict my nasi intake. It wasn't easy at first but fasting in Ramadhan had done such a big help to me. Gotta love fasting more!

 From L to R; 22/04/2013 - 05/05/2013 - 30/05/2013

18/10/2013, with Abam Kiki ;)

Now that I've got my ideal weight back, I've been less strict with my diet. I do have my cheat day once in while by letting myself enjoy those 'luxurious/sinful/evil' food :D

Anyway, here are 14 superb energy boosters;

1. Apples

"An apple has as much caffeine as a cup of coffee."  Heard that before? Well, it's not true; but fruits are great sources of energy. Full of carbs and vitamins, plus a little sugar, fruit will give you an instant boost. Apples in particular have a ton of fiber, which is a natural energizer.

2. Nuts

A handful of nuts in the afternoon is a good way to wake yourself up. Nuts, like almonds and cashews, contain lots of protein and magnesium, which is a mineral that helps convert sugar into energy. Perfect!

3. Water

What a painfully obvious one, right? Water is essential to healthy body function and alertness. Studies have shown that even slight dehydration can be an energy sucker, and getting dehydrated is fairly easy. Guzzle water throughout the day to stay bright-eyed.

4. Chocolate

Duh. Chocolate is high in sugar and caffeine. While it's not the most nutritious option, it will do the trick. Opt for squares of dark chocolate for a healthier pep in your step.

5. Eggs

If you have a few minutes to scramble or hard boil a couple of eggs, you can give yourself a great jump start. Eggs are great sources of vitamin B and choline, which are known energy ampers, and give you bonus protein, omega-3s, and vitamin D.

6. Lean Meat

Dig into any trimmed, lean meat (chicken, turkey, bison) for the essential protein, and you'll also receive plenty of energy-boosting tyrosine as a result.

7. Bananas

Bananas are a blessing when you're on the go and short on time and/or money. Enjoy one of these carb-packed life-savers for a rapid energy boost that will get you off and running.

8. Brown Rice

You already know that rice is a great source of carbohydrates for providing optimal energy, but opting for the heart-healthy brown variety can also work wonders for you digestive system and help to alleviate stress.

9. Mango

Mango is a fantastic source of energy thanks to its vitamins (B, C) and nutrients (calcium, potassium, zinc, folate) that break down food into plenty of energy for you to go the extra mile.

10. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is packed with low-fat, heart-healthy carbohydrates, and it delivers calcium, potassium, magnesium, and even a bit of protein. Grab a spoon and dig in.

11. Broccoli

You probably know by now that broccoli fully lives up to its superfood label. If you're seeking any health benefit you can dream up, go ahead and assume broccoli is going to help you out. A desired energy boost in nothing this superhero veggie can't handle.

12. Soybeans

Soybeans are rich in B-vitamins, energy-maximizing carbohydrates, and fiber, as well as being a plentiful source of protein.

13. Pumpkin Seeds

A bag of pumpkin seeds will go a long way to getting you off on the right foot, because they are rich in protein, monosaturated fat, fiber and zinc.

14. Coffee

This one may seem like cheating the system, but it's not. A cup of coffee not only sends you into overdrive with caffeine, but it also works its magic to increase awareness when you're dragging and can boost physical performance.

Of Looking Fat & M.Nasir

Assalamualaikum & hallo!

I believe almost everybody has at least one annoying makcik neighbour who seems to always not satisfy with what you do/did, have/had or simply what you are. Worse, if she has a kid at your age who according to her, is doing way better than you. Habislahhh! Bak kata orang Kelantan, pah cerohhh nok compare

So, when we had a kenduri akikah of my Nephew, Umar last 2 Fridays, this neighbour of mine came to our house. She saw me & commented that how I look fat in front of many people. I should have seen that coming because that wasn't the first time I received such annoying remark from her. So, my reply was "Oh ye ke? Baru turun 5 kg kot?" & immediately ignored her

I didn't mean to be rude but I have something more important than entertaining people like her

And later, she asked me whether I'm done with my chambering, where I work now, the name & location of the firm etc. Nasib baik tak tanya boyfriend saya nama apa je. Kalau tak, my answer would probably be ..... *drum rolls*

M.Nasir!

*flips tudung*

Why M. Nasir? Because I honestly think he's handsome & macho versi lelaki Melayu! Have you watched him in Puteri Gunung Ledang? So cool okayyy? I loveee the movie, made me cry several times!

Perhaps I shall really take a picture of my weighing scale with me on it, print it & send it to my neighbour. Tak pun, photoshop a picture of me & M.Nasir. Haih! Tak puas hati lagi ni! >:-(

My Office Table

  1. A mini Eiffel Tower which I bought at Kaison, KL Festival City for only RM4.50. Should have bought more instead of 2. I'm a sucker for anything Eiffel Tower-ish
  2. A vase which is actually a tall glass. I bought it at Salamku for RM6.90
  3. I received some bouquet of roses from my dear friends during my recent Long Call on 22/08/2013. Too sayang to throw them away, so I turned them to dried flowers :)
  4. A container I bought at Romantika for RM9. It obviously serves no purpose there but I think it's pretty, adding some feminine feelings to my table
  5. A photo frame from Ikea
  6. A picture of me & my friend, Che Ro during her wedding reception last April. She was so sweet to send me that picture, together with a raya card & some duit raya. Hehe!
  7. A black box of the external hard disk I found in the office
  8. A candy box I got from a kenduri. Red & white polkadots are so cute, don't you think?
  9. A plastic container I found at home where I put some paper clips inside
  10. A pair of paper holders that I got from my LL.B Graduation dinner in 2011

I wish I've an endless supply of fresh flowers! And my table is facing a beautiful window where I can see the sky & hear birds chipping happily sambil disapu angin sepoi-sepoi bahasa. Like this one!

So, what do you have on your office table? :)

Taken

Assalamualaikum & hallo everyone!
I didn't blog for the past 5 days & I did miss this space a bit. It was unintended but I've been keeping myself busy with a lot of things like Raya Haji, entertaining guests who came to our house to visit my nephew, attending kenduri, stuff myself with a lot of dagings etc. And this is one of them :)

It was my schoolmate, Asha's wedding reception last Friday. I'm going to blog about it soon, InsyaAllah. "So, mek. When is your turn?" Tiba-tiba ada suara dari hujung tanjung sana bertanya. Not yet but someday, InsyaAllah! :)

The truth is, the internet connection at home has been missing in action for a few days already. Macam chipsmore, kejap ada kejap tak ada. Penat la oiii asyik nak buat report jahhh. Ini semua adalah angkara si pencuri kabel yang durjana. Say, hari ni dorang curi at area A. When the TM people fix area A, dorang pergi curi at area B pulak & the process repeats. Haihhh! Stress mekkkk!

I miss this space & I've a lot of things to share *hugs the screen monitor*

Fasting On The Day Of Arafah

Assalamualaikum & happy Arafah day to all Muslim brothers & sisters!

What is the day of Arafah, you ask?

Read more about it here

So, are you fasting today? Despite didn't have a proper meal for sahur this morning except some water, I pray may Allah give me strength to continue fasting until Maghrib. InsyaAllah. So, hold on there my grumpy perut. I know it's just 10:40 a.m & you've been making a lot of noises there, but today's reward for fasting isn't something that comes everyday! MasyaAllah!

So, please hold on ok? Buka puasa Maghrib nanti saya upah awak dengan nasi ;)

Hallo Sunday & Berhati-hatilah Di Jalan Raya

How I spend my Sunday selepas Boss tak masuk office selama seminggu

Assalamualaikum & hallo! Happy Sunday everyone!

My last Friday was occupied with my Nephew's majlis akikah, followed by aktiviti kemas-kemas the day after. Makan-makan do is a really tiring business, no kidding! Coming from a petite family of 4 (+1 the Bro-in-Law) I really love when people come to our house & enjoy the food that we prepared & served them but how I wish the kemas-kemas part would be less hassle :(

Anyhow, it's 2 days left before Aidil Adha & K.Bharu sudah mula dibanjiri anak-anak perantauan nampaknya. Took me a longer time to arrive at the office this morning but nevermind, selamat pulang ke kampung halaman everybody! Can't wait to pamper my stomach with lots of singgang daging & daging goreng

But boooo to myself for still stuck at the office until tomorrow. Dilema seorang pekerja makan gaji kekdahnya & the fact that I've to settle 2 files for cases next week menambahkan gundah di hati. Sigh!

Have a nice day, everyone! Berhati-hati di jalan raya. Take care!

Nobody Says It Was Easyyyyyyy

Assalamualaikum & bonjour mes amis!

I've nothing interesting to write but I do miss writing. Maka, terimalah random updates;

  • Other than the arrival of my nephew, Umar 9 days ago, I've some reasons to smile more often nowadays. Alhamdulillah. Oh my Allah, I sound like an obsessed aunty already, don't I? Pardon moi but he's my first anak buah & it had been such a longgggg time since we had a baby in our house. I'm the youngest btw

  • The internet at home has gone haywire, again. Haihh! Tukar kabel apa ntah. Geram hakuuu! So, every night pukul 9 sudah selamat zzzZzzZ which is a good thing anyway because senang betul nak wake up for Subuh

  • I was only away from home for 3 days but my kittens have grown up so fast! Hari tu jalan jatuh-jatuh lagi but now, sudah pandai bergurau-senda! Auwww! You little cute things, please don't grow up so fast ok? My Mother said, cooking in the kitchen is a bit tricky nowadays sebab dorang suka main-main dekat kaki & bergantungan di hujung kain. Hahaha! I think I'm going to call them Bobo & Bibi. Jangan tershashul panggil Babi sudah. Eh, pardon moi for my word :P

  •  I incidentally watched The Voice Season 5 The Blind Auditions a few days ago at my friend's house & it was my first time btw. My favourite contestant was Holly Henry, singing 'The Scientist' by Coldplay. Her voice is so calming, made me tear a bit. Bahaha! Emo much! But yes, she has made me humming that song for daysss especially that 'Nobody says it was easyyyyyy' part. I can't blame her really

And this is the Top 10

  • My current weight is 44 kg. Yes, this is one of the reasons to be happy! Yayyy! :D I just need to be more strict with my diet as I've been having a lot of cheat days lately. Worse, I just rekindled my relationship with flirtatious M&M & cekedis. Sigh!

Yes, I'm that petite T_T
Calculate your BMI here

Ok, I'm going to continue watching The Voice Season 4 pulak. This week relax betul sebab Boss outstation. WoopedoOo! Have a nice day, everyone! Take care!

Abam Tommy Berasa Terabai Lately

Assalamualaikum & hallo! How are you, earthlings?

I was away for 3 days & I'm glad to say that I actually didn't miss this space. Ok, maybe a little because I did visit my own blog once while I was away, you know just to see how it's doing :P

Anyhow, I'm supposed to be in the car with my Bos now, heading to K.Terengganu but I asked my officemate, Ira to ganti me instead. Patutnya today is my Nephew's akikah but it's postponed to next Friday. So, might as well just let her enjoy the free trip ;)

I've a lot of updates to share but the arrival of my Nephew, Umar on 01/10/2013 has kept everybody busy! It still feels surreal to me that I'm now an aunty & have a baby boy whom I can call my NEPHEW! Pheww!

Anyhow, it still feels awkward though. Really awkward in fact. I haven't had the guts to riba him, let alone to hold him in my arms. The dilemma of being a anak bongsu for so longggggggg! Sigh! The only things I do so far are to bid him 'Assalamualaikum & hallo Umarrr!', adore him & take a lot of photos. Oh, I also bought him his first soft toy which later la I story, ok?

But of course somebody doesn't feel quite happy about it & we totally don't blame him. Hehe!

Taken this morning before I leave to the office
Don't be sad, Abam Tommy! You'll always be my boo!
